Description
I am not always enthralled by direct shots of the sun. I am gradually losing interest in the eastern horizon at sunrise and the western horizon at sunset. That said, I suspect I will never fully lose interest in that view, and it is because of scenes like this one. This is the eastern horizon a very short time before the sun crested over it. This intensity in the sky had deepened further than seems possible while the blue beneath the horizon rose to the occasion to match it, which was all more than enough to persuade me to swivel the camera around to it and find a composition.
