And another image of the night sky near Asheville, North Carolina with the Northern Lights. A vanishingly rare phenomenon captured in a digital photograph.
And one more of the roughly four hundred photographs I took on the night of March 23rd, 2023 when the aurora somehow managed to reach us all the way down here in Western North Carolina. This image comes from near the end of my experience photographing the aurora in the early morning hours of March 24th, 2023. The light pillars were fading, but across the entire sky is what I personally find to be the most pleasing color palette of all the images. I love the continuum of colors from the edge of the frame inward.
