A dramatic sunrise over a cloud inversion from the Roan Highlands.

Early-morning light making first contact with the slopes and the cloud inversion below them. I waited for a little over two hours in sub-freezing temperatures for this moment. I say waited, but I was busy photographing various staggering sights unfolding before me from around 5AM as the old moon started to rise, through to this moment. I see mornings like this as one of the highest and best uses of my finite time on earth, and strongly encourage all who are able to get out before twilight and make your way to a pretty spot as often as life allows, and bring the people close to you along.
