Golden hour and backlit ridge-lines of Western North Carolina
I love good light, and I love good clouds. But I get really ecstatic when I am at high elevation and I see the clouds filtering the light to make magic happen. Such was the case this beautiful day in late May. I was out on the Parkway, primarily looking for the mountain laurel and rhododendron bloom that was just getting underway at high elevation, and had the distinct pleasure of seeing the scene photographed here. It was also exciting for me because it was my first time taking photos from this particular vantage point, but now this spot will stay high on my list of possible destinations.
