Description
I hit the jackpot in the Roan Highlands. Nearly every photograph I took at this particular sunset was a new favorite image, making it well worth the harrowing and dangerous conditions that required a tremendous amount of gear and attention to safety. The only way to get an image like this is to get to high altitude during a snowstorm, which is inherently dangerous. And the odds of clear skies and photo-viable conditions are even worse than normal then, making it a huge gamble every time. Who knew nature photography could be quite so thrilling?
